Things You Need to Know

Have Questions?

  • What is microneedling?

    What is microneedling?

Microneedling is also called "collagen induction therapy" or "skin needling".  It's a technology that uses many tiny needles to create microtrauma in the skin.   Basically, the device is poking tiny holes in the skin, which then stimulates collagen production.

  • Does microneedling hurt?

    Does microneedling hurt?

Microneedling would hurt if you aren't numbed first, so we apply numbing cream over the entire treatment area.  The cream is allowed to sit for about 20-30 minutes, then the microneedling procedure is done.  It is completely tolerable and does not hurt when done after the numbing cream is used.

  • What kinds of things can microneedling treat?

What kinds of things can microneedling treat?

Microneedling is a good treatment option for all skin types.  It is particularly good for treating these things:

    • fine lines (wrinkles)
    • coarse lines (wrinkles)
    • acne scarring/chicken pox scarring
    • stretch marks
    • raised surgical scars
    • dark spots in the skin (sun damage)
    • coarse texture
  • How many microneedling treatments will I need?

How many microneedling treatments will I need?

Microneedling is best done in a package of treatments, so we usually offer packages of 3-5 treatment sessions.  Scars may need additional treatments.

  • Is there any downtime after microneedling?

Is there any downtime after microneedling?

There is no downtime after microneedling.  Your skin may look slightly pink for a day after treatment.  You may experience mild flaking or dryness for a few days.  We do recommend a good skincare regimen, which will improve upon your microneedling results.
