Restylane®, Juvederm®
Healthy skin contains important components that keep it supple and young looking. One of these is hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural sugar found in all living cells that helps maintain skin volume by attracting and binding over 1000 times its weight in water. However, with time, sunlight and other factors, the hyaluronic acid in your skin diminishes, your skin loses volume, and lines and wrinkles appear.
Now you can temporarily replace your skin's lost hyaluronic acid using Restylane® or Juvederm®.
Restylane® and Juvederm® Treatments smooth wrinkles and enhance lips or fill wrinkles instantly. If you would like to get rid of wrinkles and folds or if you want to improve the image of your lips there is a new answer to your needs. Restylane® is an innovation based on a non-animal hyaluronic acid, manufactured by a unique method in Sweden. Juvederm is a highly cross-linked hyaluronic acid and is smooth to inject.
You can expect the filling effect to last between 6-9 months, depending upon the area treated.
Radiesse®
Radiesse® is a calcium hydroxyapatitev filler, while Cosmoderm® and Cosmoplast® are collagen fillers. None of these products requires a skin test prior to treatment. The primary difference among them, aside from composition, is the length of time they last. Collagen lasts about 3-4 months, while Restylane® lasts 6-9 months, and Radiesse® lasts about 18 months.
Sculptra®
Sculptra® is a sculpting agent that restores volume to correct the signs of facial fat loss, which comes with aging. Sculptra® is injectable poly-L-lactic acid, and it has been used safely outside the United States since 1999 in over 150,000 patients under the name New-Fill®. Sculptra® is not made from human or animal sources, as it is a synthetic product. As such, it requires no skin test. Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) is biocompatible (it doesn't harm the body) and biodegradable (able to be broken down by the body). It has been widely used for years in dissolvable sutures (stitches), soft tissue implants, and other types of implants. The effects of Sculptra® are long-lasting. In a clinical study, increases in skin thickness lasted up to 2 years in most patients. The results from Sculptra® are not immediate; Sculptra® provides a gradual increase in skin thickness. Dr. Kavali will see you again about 4-6 weeks after your treatment to help you decide if additional treatment is needed. In most cases, at least two treatments are necessary. Touch-up treatments every two years may be needed to maintain your results. Generally, results can last 2-5 years.
