Brachioplasty

An arm lift, also known as brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure to remove loose skin and excess fat deposits in the upper arm. With age, upper arm skin can become loose and flabby. Dr. Kavali will discuss brachioplasty with patients who want to tighten this skin and look as good as they feel. In some cases she may suggest that liposuction be used alone or in conjunction with an arm lift to remove excess fat in the upper arms. Liposuction leaves only tiny scars near the inner elbow, while a formal brachiplasty scar extends the length of the arm from the armpit to the elbow. The scar is hidden on the inner aspect of the arm.

Brachioplasty is an outpatient procedure, meaning you can go home the same day. It is important to wear compression sleeves for several weeks after the surgery. These will be provided to you before you leave the hospital.
